BUILDING PROJECT
The New Testament Church of God (NTCG), Brooks' Bar, Manchester UK (Charity No: 250306) was first established in 1960 with just 10 people. The building in which we currently worship was first built in 1885 and has been owned by NTCG Brooks' Bar since1965.
Over the years hundreds if not thousands of our local community have some link or fond memory of Brooks’s Bar (the Church without the Steeple) and we are aiming to modernised the church building so it is suitable and relevant to the community its serves.
The building has not previously undergone any major redevelopment whilst under ownership of NTCG, but now requires a substantial redevelopment and expansion because of its age and to be able to accommodate the diverse needs of it’s community. Offering new Wellbeing spaces, Drop in clinics, Adult community space and much more.
We're looking forward to improving this space for all our members and friends to use and enjoy and we would appreciate your support for this major project.
The Aim
1) To provide a more welcoming environment that is conducive to worship and rich Christian fellowship for all who visit us.
2) To provide an improved flexible space with greater facilities to accommodate the needs of the church members and the community it serves
3) To deliver key programmes and services that respond to some of the core needs of our community including:
- Children summer school
- Child day care centre
- Various Drop in Clinics
- Educational hub
- Community support centre – for social support and re-integration
- Mental Health Wellbeing centre
- Food Distribution centre
- Spiritual education and development
- And more…..
Something special has been happening at Brook’s Bar New Testament Church of God. Since December 2024, we’ve been undertaking a full renovation of our church building at 20 Upper Chorlton Road — transforming the space so we can better serve our community for generations to come. The building is taking shape beautifully, but we now find ourselves in the final stretch — and we need your help to get across the finish line.
We’re raising funds to help furnish the new space, including:
• Chairs for the sanctuary
• Music and sound equipment
• Fittings for the church café
Your support will help us reopen our doors — not just as a place of worship, but as a hub of care, celebration and connection. This is where we host Christenings, Weddings, Funerals, Christmas meals for the homeless, Vacation Bible School, and so much more.
