Becoming one with the Lord Jesus Christ in His experience of Suffering Crucifixion ( Part 1) The Prayer Meeting in the Garden (Part B) A reflection of the suffering of Jesus Christ which He endured at the hands of men, teaches us that nothing in the life of those who follow him is accidental. God knows the trial and testing scenes of life, and He ordained that we, like Jesus, should bear our cross amidst all of them. As such, we must come to God in prayer and surrender completely to His will without complaining - even if it is a pathway of suffering. Once we accept this truth in humility, and find our place of worship before the presence of the Father, we will have victory and bring glory to Him. Prayer should be ultimately a believer’s first port of call as was so evidently demonstrated by the Lord Jesus Christ. This enriching and empowering communion with the Father allows us to keep the bigger picture in mind. Surrendering in prayer guarantees His protection, His presence and ultimately victory. Bishop B. In Matthew chapter 16 Jesus asked his disciples a question, "Who do people say I am?” There comes a time when we all have to know the truth of who Jesus is personally. Theme: Comfort Yourself in God Israel thought God had forgotten them while in captivity under the Babylonians; He made so much promises to them such as they would be a GREAT NATION(Genesis12:1-2). However, scriptures declared God is not slack concerning His promises(2Peter3:9). And so God turned up and spoke resoundingly through His prophet Isaiah ‘Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, said your God(Isaiah40:1), just when Israel had got many questions for God regarding their struggles in captivity. God offered to comfort Israel as a mother comforts a child (Isaiah66:13). Also, God wants to offer comfort to Christian and unsaved alike in today’s world. However, it is up to us to exercise our faith in God so that we can receive His comfort. The prophet Habakkuk (4:2) stated ‘The just shall live by faith.’ It is important to note, that to receive God’s comfort or for one to be comforted in God, he or she must be prepared according to Isaiah 40:3. It’s only when the desert places of our heart is prepared that we will realise the comfort that God has to offer. Israel received God’s comfort when they cleansed their heart before God (Isaiah 40: 9 – 11). Today we are no different, to be comforted in God our heart must be prepared.
